I am back from New York. To be honest, the red eye wasn't bad. The flight home.. not so much. But all that matters is that I'm home and safe and had a great time. Plus I came home to a very vocal cat who missed us and has been giving lots of cuddles.
New York was full of fantastic food, beautiful fall colors, and just plain fun. Highlights of the trip: Brazlian steakhouse. Shake shack. Dunkin donuts. Ice skating in Rockefeller Center. The leaves in Central Park + FH & BIL's epic branch joust. Meeting and working out of my NY office and seeing my boss again.
Not so highlights: Newark airport. Getting on the wrong train and ending up in Brooklyn. Turbulence. Delayed planes.
But other than that, I have no real complaints. And I barely spent any money. Who am I?
Outfit post tomorrow since I donned an outfit today that I loved.
And now... photo dump!

weekend in pictures + wardrobe musings
I thought this might be a nice thing to start doing on a weekly basis. Now featuring - laura's weekend in pictures wrap up!
On Saturday morning we had quite a bit of rain here in the city. That didn't stop Dave and I from being able to get out of the apartment for a bit. We went down to the farmer's market on embarcadero had picked up some yummy jam, tried artisan cheeses, and were able to try our hand at pressing fresh apples to make apple cider.
After we dried o
After the wedding Dave and I headed back up to the city for Halloween Eve with some friends at a club. We got home really late but had a great night dancing and admiring other people's costumes.
Sunday was a lazy day - we had brunch at once of our favorite restaurants in Nob Hill, took naps, did some housework, and had a great dinner with his mom and sister in Jack London Square. The sunset was fantastic!
Because of a gift exchange I did on one of my forums I finally got my paws on one of the chinchilla bath houses (as shown above). Frankie loves it so much he really doesn't want to share with Ollie and I might have to get him his own.
The weather is definitely changing here - I'm not complaining. As long as the skies are clear, the air is crisp and t
Anthropologie and J Crew have definitely been my source of fashion as of late. H&M has actually had some pretty good sales too (I think I saw a sign up today - buy 1 sweater, get 1 free - oh noes!). Quite frankly if I had the cash I'd redo my entire wardrobe - but until I win the lottery I don't see that happening any time soon.
Anyway - today is Tuesday (and it's after 12 already, yay!) so get out and VOTE if you haven't already done so and have a great day! (And be safe if you partake in any post-giants winning the world series celebrations).

8 is an infinity symbol standing up.
On Monday October 25 me and the other half celebrated 8 years of being together. 8 years! Holy cow! That's like... all of middle school! Or high school and college combined! Or some other ungodly amount of time.
But regardless - I came home to flowers. Flowers have to be one of my favorites to photograph. I mean, what other thing can be really good at staying so still - and looking so pretty while d
Although I'm am an amateur with the camera I still like the way they turned out. And I still enjoy having something bright and cheery to come home to in the evenings - although I',m not quite sure if ms rosie the kitty has been chewing on the edges of them at all...
I'm still not sure what direction I should take this blog in. I really want it to showcase my love of photography and display how badly I should've gone to art school - but what about fashion and luxury items? Hrrrm. Not too sure. I guess its a coin toss up in the air - or perhaps it can somehow encompass all of these items.
Anyway - today is Wednesday so happy hump day - the week is already half over. The weather is taking a dark turn for autumn (which I don't mind because its an excuse for wearing long socks, sweaters, and warm scarves). And with the world series starting tonight in none other than San Francisco I can see the lights on at the ballpark from my office and the buzz and orange in the air... hats off to SF and looking forward to watching the outcome!
