June Challenge

So, my whole idea of a shopping ban for May didn't go so well. I finally got fed up with my color lacking wardrobe and set out to purchase some items that would brighten things up a bit.

And bright my wardrobe has become. The May roundup:

JCrew: Biennial Satchel in red. Striped bow flats. Red eyelet pencil skirt. Mint green tippi sweater and modern red vneck (coming Monday, eep!). I really can't wait to pair the stripes with the red eyelet pencil skirt. And I have to say, of course, all the items were on sale. Huzzah!

Nordstrom: Frenchi blazer in cobalt (for 28.90!), polka dot blouse, and my much lusted after Sam Edelman spiked flats.

Gap outlet: Mint green tank, cobalt sweater, kelly green skinny jeans. (linked to similar items).

Target: White cropped jeans (!), pink tunic, and The Webster patterned tank (never would've thought to get this, but its adorable).

And perhaps the big finale, from Neimans, the Tory Burch natalya wedge in black.

Which friends, leads me to a shopping hiatus for the month of June. And perhaps July. I used the word banned for May and that just seemed to spurn my need to shop. And with two weekends away this month, I'm hoping I can reign it in.

So far, the responses to my new clothing items have all been positive. I've gotten a lot of compliments from coworkers and it makes me feel more confident in myself and what I'm wearing.

Outstanding items to get at some point: Tweed jacket.

That's it for now.... have a fantastic weekend!

Green Challenge!

It's time for another Everybody Everywear challenge - and today it's green! Since the majority of the shades of green look not so great on me I decided to dress up a drab outfit today with a green scarf. It's pouring rain and dark here in San Francisco today so the bright pop of green helps brighten up my outfit.

Closeup of the scarf print.
Oxford shirt & Scarf: H&M. Skirt: Gary Graham. Blazer: Banana Republic. Shoes: JCrew.

I also have to say that I'm pretty jealous of people who can rock green in more than just an accessory. For some reason it doesn't bode well for my skin tone. D'oh.

Since St. Patrick's day is right around the corner... what's your favorite piece of green to sport?

Q and A Monday linkup and Outfit of the day!

Here we go again! It's Monday! Q& A linkup time!

1. What was the best day of your life?  Probably the day my now fiance proposed. That - and the days that followed were just magic.

2. What was the worst day of your life? The day my grandpa passed away. I felt my whole world turn upside down.

3. Do you know how to swim? Yes but not well. I don't know how to dive! :(

4. Cup ½ empty or ½ full? I'd prolly say half empty but run to fill it up again.

5. Where were you born? Seton Medical Center, Daly City, CA

6. Are you a morning person? Far from it. I hate mornings.

7. Are you a spontaneous person? I'm becoming moreso as I get older...

8. How many tattoos do you have? 4!

9. Have you ever milked a cow? Can't say that I have...

10. What was the most adventurous thing you have ever done? This one is hard... I guess in the grand scheme of things I'm not that adventurous! Perhaps it was at a team building ropes course - climbing to the top of a 20 ft pole, jumping off, and touching a ball in the middle of the arena. And screaming the whole way down.

And so it's not just text... here's my outfit today. I'm a little sad that its pouring rain outside and I'm definitely not dressed for it but alas! At least I hopefully look cute?

Skirt + blouse - banana republic (skirt here, blouse here). Sweater - jcrew. (similar here) Shoes - Prada (similar peeptoe here). Scarf - Jason Wu for Target.
Here's to a good start of the work week!
