April budget

Or... as I shall say, ouch. I went way over budget this month. New York really threw a wrench into my plans. I thought I was done.. and then there was C Wonder. And J Crew. And no sales tax on clothes if you spend under 110.
At least everything I got was on sale? :/

So yeah. I'll have to be really, really good in May. Although I do need a new swimsuit for the Mexico trip that may be the only thing that I allow myself for next month.

New York

New York you are fantastic. I've prolly left your fantastic city with a few more pounds to my hips but that's okay.  I had such a fun time with all of my coworkers and being able to stay and visit with my in laws, but its always good to come home and sleep in my own bed and be with the furkids.

Here's some snapshots from our trip:
Near Columbus Circle, a few blocks away from the inlaws
Yankee Stadium
Cheese fries at the ballgame.
Baked by Melissa peanut butter chocolate cupcakes. YUM!
My friend I made walking to work on 28th..
Globe outside 59th St Station
View from office 1
Empire State Building
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Office number 2's pool room
A flagel. It was good!
Central park
Manolo store
C Wonder goodies
Whew. I swear each night we had something going on after work and the jet lag messed with me for a few days. But I had a great time and hope to go back soon. Next month is Mexico... so I might need some beach clothes!

Blue and green

Hello, March! I'm glad that you are finally here - and with it, a trip to London and Paris in less than 2 weeks. Not only am I now contemplating what to pack but I'm trying not to freak myself out silly over the fact that I have to fly from London - San Francisco home by myself. Have I ever mentioned that I hate flying? Well, I hate flying. Someone, pass the advil pm.

This past weekend DH and I grabbed my car and drove. Saturday we went north along highway 1 and stopped in Stinson Beach for clam chowder, Petaluma for cheese, and finally made it to Santa Rosa and spent some time at Russian River Brewing Company. Sunday we headed east, mainly in the direction of the Livermore Outlets where I indulged in J Crew and Gap. I picked up the button down I'm wearing today for the nifty price of 12. I feel as though I had to stop myself from buying 5, heh.

I'm starting to really, really like blue and green paired together. Call it a spring awakening but it might be my new favorite thing. And the little buttons on this cardigan? Love them too.

And my hair has decided to be a frizzball today. Ahh, Mondays.

Are there any color combos that you've discovered or rediscovered lately? I'd love to hear all about it!

Cardigan: C Wonder
Button down: Gap Outlet
Necklace: Forever 21

I've finally discovered polyvore and here's what I wouldn't mind finding under my tree this year.

And I've spent much of the weekend pouring over reports coming out of CT. I'm extremely saddened and still trying to comprehend how someone could be so upset to do this to so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been affected by what happened on Friday, December 14.

Last week's outfits

I feel as if I've finally recovered from the past week which I can only describe as the most challenging week of my career (thus far). I spent this weekend recovering from it - lots of sleep, good food,  reading, time with my family, some self indulgence (shopping and the spa, to be exact), and getting my little Christmas tree. And while the week was hard, at least I hopefully looked somewhat decent.

Skirt & Sequin top: J Crew, Button down: Old Navy
I promise this outfit looked better before the end of the day. The sequin dot shirt is another item that's a bit out of my comfort zone but I paired it with a blouse and a wool pencil skirt to wear to the office. Also, pardon the foliage but there seems to be good light in my entry way to the apartment.

Blouse & Giraffe necklace: J Crew, Cardigan: C Wonder
So, let me tell you about C Wonder for a second. It's like Tory Burch's more affordable younger sister (which I heard is run by her ex, btw.). It's probably a good thing that they don't have a store here in San Francisco. And I promise I had pants on - just black jeans.

It's also hard to believe that 2012 is going to be drawing to a close soon. I do have some plans for 2013 already (including travel and some job related) and am excited to see where 2013 takes me.

If I can only lock up my wallet until then... because Santa is really going to be mad at me after this weekend.
