J Crew Reviews: Floral T & Stripe Necklace Tee

Part of the best thing about ordering items online are getting packages in the mail. I feel as though receiving things via snail mail is a bit outside the norm these days, so I'm always thrilled when a box comes to my desk with my name on it (even if I did have to order it myself).

With the last 40% off sale promo I finally picked up the stripe necklace tee. I took my normal size M. I adore this. It pairs well under a blazer and with jeans, or it can be dressed up with a pencil skirt. I'm glad I jumped on it when I did - online is showing sold out of most sizes but I would try in store. I would consider getting this top in another color way I really like it that much!

The vintage cotton floral tee is another item I'd consider in its alternate color way as well. I almost bought both, but I decided not to. And now I shall kick myself. The top is so soft, and the flowers give it a dainty feel. Again, I took my size M in this. And if I find the cream version, it shall be mine too.

Something else I ordered awhile ago also came in the mail this week and its definitely becoming my new favorite necklace - my monogram initials in silver. I purchased it from groopdealz and have seen it pop back a few times but here's a photo of mine below.

Is there anything that's come in the mail recently that you've come to love?

Of tweed and jewels

In case I haven't already mentioned to you before, I'm pretty much addicted to blazers. More often than not I'm wearing one at the office and they can be such classic pieces that can take an ordinary outfit to something that's a bit more... grown up.

So when I spied this in J Crew the other day (and it happened to be in my size..) I tried it on.  And of course, it fit. So I decided to be good and place it on hold to think about it... and realized with the 50% off sale promotion I'd be dumb to pass it up.

Introducing the newest blazer to closet - the J Crew Collection Jeweled Collar blazer.

Blazer - J Crew, Button down - Old Navy, Jeans - 7 For all mankind
I took my normal J Crew size - a size 8 in this. The blazer is made of wool and definitely thick and warm. It even has a hidden inside pocket. I don't think that I would've paid 325.00 for this ... but for what I'm paid I'm happy I did. The buttons also have anchors on them... love anchors!

And so sorry for the awkward last photo but I wanted to try and show a close up of the collars. It also came with jewel reinforcements in case any of them happen to have the misfortune of falling off.

So I'm fairly sure I'm done buying blazers for awhile.. unless I find one in plaid. Or houndstooth. And that's it I swear (pinky swear, too!).

Do you have an item in your closet that you can't seem to stop from buying in different colors/patters/fabrics?

Green is an okay color.

I have to admit, I've always shyed away from green (except if it was on an Oakland A's t shirt). So I decided to take a chance on J Crew's warm jade and order a Jackie sweater during their last sale. And during one of my sleepless nights this dawned on me and I decided to try it out... and it worked. (And why didn't I try this sooner?)

Jeweled collared shirt: H&M, Jackie sweater: J Crew, Jeans: Banana Republic

Whodathunk that I can look okay in green? The majority of the time I've shimmied away from the color because it tends to wash me out, or look like I'm no longer breathing. But... I think I love this color. Yes warm jade, you will do.

Not much else is going on but our wedding day countdown is 11 DAYS! So crazy to say that I'll be getting married NEXT WEEK!

I've been doing some DIY and will share with you once the bridesmaids have their gifts. ;)

And in case you haven't looked at Old Navy lately, you really should. I'll be planning a post of what I've gotten of theirs lately with their 25% off promo code.

Hope you are having a great week so far!
